When does a hotspot appear?

GDACS flood and landslide records first enter a private discovery queue. A designated reviewer must inspect the source, event identity, location, hazard wording and source time, then explicitly approve public visibility. Alert colour alone cannot publish a record, and a generic flood cannot become a flash-flood claim. Approval means the source discovery is suitable to show; it does not independently confirm occurrence, impacts or causation and is not an official warning.
